pork baby back ribs were on sale at whole foods! I’ve never made a rack of ribs before so this was new. I could only find spanish smoked paprika at whole foods, so that is what I used. We are LOVING the S&F chef sauce Sweet Baby BBQ right now. Hands down best BBQ sauce on the planet. Better than Sweet Baby Ray’s minus the HFCS! I didn’t measure out the cup, I just poured it on until I thought there was enough. didn’t need to reduce the sauce at the end either. Next time I would skip broiling these, even though we did it for a very short time, way less than the recipe said to, they burnt up quick! It may be because our ribs were so lean.
Easy Barbecued Ribs
Adapted from America’s Test Kitchen Slow Cooker Revolution
FROM MMMM…IS FOR MOMMY
1.5 tbsp sweet paprika (I used Spanish smoked)
1 tbsp light brown sugar, lightly packed
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
S&P to taste
2 lbs pork baby back ribs – leave the membrane on the ribs to help hold them together
1 cup barbecue sauce
In a small bowl, mix together paprika, brown sugar, cayenne and S&P. Rub this mixture all over both sides of your ribs well. Arrange ribs in the slow cooker by standing them up against the wall of the stoneware pot, thicker side down and meaty side against the pot. Pour barbecue sauce over the ribs, cover and cook for 6-8 hours on low.
