Crunch Bars

I made these for Deb’s Surprise 30th Birthday Party but sadly I definitely burned the brown sugar/butter part. I don’t get the whole no stirring while boiling part, that’s what cause the burning! they were still ok, but tasted burnt! I’ve had them when someone else made them and they were divine and seriously addicting!

Crunch Bars
from one of my MIL’s friends
24 Saltine crackers (or as many as fits)
½ cup (1 stick) butter
½ cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1 2/3 cups semi sweet chocolate chops (or 8 oz squares chopped)
1 cup chopped walnuts

-preheat oven to 350.
-place crackers in single layer on a foil lined 13×9 or 15×10 pan
-heat butter and sugar in saucepan on medium heat until butter is melted and mixture is well blended. Bring to a boil and boil for 3 minutes without stirring.
-spread over crackers
-place in oven and bake for 7 minutes
-immediately sprinkle with chocolate and let stand for 5 minutes
-spread melted chocolate over crackers
-immediately sprinkle with nuts, press nuts lightly into chocolate
-cool complete
-break and into pieces
